Following a political season that thrust fake advertisements into the limelight, Facebook is taking steps to prevent this moving forward. For an article in USA Today, Newhouse Assistant Professor of Communications Jennifer Grygiel was quoted about these new changes and what still needs to be done.
“Consumers are aware that something is wrong now, but they do not have the power and agency to fix it themselves,” she said in the article. “They cannot make the changes that our democracy requires. This needs to come from our elected officials.”
