“More advertisers are joining the Facebook boycott”

Jennifer Grygiel, assistant professor of communications in the Newhouse School, was quoted in the Marketplace story “” The call for Facebook to create more policies to regulate hate speech and misinformation is growing, and has resulted in many companies halting advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. Jennifer Grygiel, an expert on social media communications, believes that the pause on companies advertising with Facebook is “probably good for the bottom line of the company” because “it speaks to what’s happening in the United States” and should encourage Facebook to change.
