Grant Reeher, professor of political science in the Maxwell School and director of the Campbell Public Affairs Institute, was interviewed by The Hill for the story “” A recent Monmouth University poll showed that 74% of respondents believe the nation is headed in the wrong direction, which poses a threat to President Donald Trump’s possible reelection. Professor Reeher, who researches American politics and elections, says it would be “very difficult” for an incumbent to overcome these figures, and says that voter satisfaction “has always been a very good indicator” of whether the incumbent will win again.
