Robert Thompson, trustee professor of television, radio and film and director of the Bleier Center for Television and Pop Culture in the Newhouse School, was featured in the Deadline story, “” Faye Emerson was the first ever female late-night television show host. Thompson, an expert on television history, helped lead a team of documentary researchers to Wisconsin to speak to Emerson, coined the “pioneer” of late night television.
