Robert Thompson, Trustee Professor of television, radio and film and director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, was quoted by Variety for the article “” Thompson, an expert on popular culture, believes that for years Hollywood has found it difficult to create plotlines focused on teenage boys for a variety of reasons and stereotypes. “Maybe television has been having difficulty in escaping that kind of established character realization,” says Thompson.
