“Data shows mailed ballots benefit both parties in battleground states.”

Grant Reeher, professor of political science in the Maxwell School, was quoted in the Daily Citizen story “.” Reeher, an expert on American politics and elections, says that there is no evidence that absentee ballots create problems with U.S. elections however the COVID 19 pandemic certainly increases the stress that state and local election workers are facing this election cycle. “We’re likely to face a situation where there are just a greater number of these ballots, and so that leads to uncertainty of the capacity of the system to handle it well,” says Reeher.
