Jennifer Grygiel, assistant professor of communication in the Newhouse School, was quoted in the USA Today story “” Grygiel, an expert on social media, says that the way social media platforms handle misinformation during the 2020 election will affect the way users see the platforms moving forward. “Platforms know this is a referendum on their futures and how they’ll be regulated. The public is aware of the risks and social media companies know they need to demonstrate they are trying,” says Grygiel.
