Mike Haynie, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives and Innovation and Institute for Veterans and Military Families founder and executive director, was quoted in The New York Times story “.” Vice Chancellor Haynie leads the University’s response to COVID-19 pandemic and says that not a single case has been transmitted in classrooms but instead have spread in communal living situations and off-campus gatherings. To have the capacity for students on campus, the University created its own testing lab and plans to double testing capabilities for the spring semester. “We realized we had to have full control and autonomy,” says Haynie.
