William Banks, Professor of Law Emeritus in the College of Law, was interviewed by WAER for the story “.” Banks, an expert on national security law, believes that President-elect Joe Biden will not struggle in catching up with the transition of power process because his team has been preparing since his nomination. However, Banks believes such a contested transition of power is a sign of greater issues America has faced. “I feel a great deal has been lost symbolically and I believe our democratic institutions have been severely beat up by the bruising battles that have been fought for no good reason,” says Banks.
