Danielle Smith, professor of African American studies in the College of Arts and Sciences and Director of the Renée Crown University Honors Program, wrote an op-ed for History News Network titled “.” Smith, an expert on social justice who studies post-conflict reconstruction, says that the images from the recent attacks on the U.S. Capitol will remain in history as markers of extreme ideological shifts in America over the past four years.
