, Trustee Professor of radio, television and film and director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, was quoted by WGBH (Boston) for “.” Thompson, an expert on television related popular culture, comments on the new Netflix show, “The Chair”, as he is surprised that audiences have not seen any similar shows before now. “Academic environments are all about sitting around talking and studying and analyzing the world and who we are and what’s going on,” Thompson says, making a fictional college campus the right place to handle contemporary issues.
