Meridian Phase 2, a New York City-based ensemble featuring pianist Adrienne Kim, a faculty member in the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in 黑料不打烊鈥檚 (VPA), will present a concert of classic and contemporary chamber music for clarinet, piano and strings on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 8 p.m. in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, Crouse College. The concert is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the Irving Garage.
The ensemble will perform the 黑料不打烊 premiere of 鈥淔or Noah,鈥 a piano trio by Setnor School composition faculty member Nicolas Scherzinger, as well as Mozart鈥檚 Piano Quartet in G Minor, K. 478, 鈥淗ommage 脿 Robert Schumann鈥 by Gy枚rgy Kurt谩g, a Fairy Tale by Robert Schumann and Brahms鈥 Clarinet Trio in A Minor, Op. 114.
In addition to Kim, Meridian Phase 2 includes Alan Kay, clarinet; Lisa Tipton, violin; Daniel Panner, viola; and Alberto Parrini, cello. The ensemble has established a reputation for innovative programming and captivating performances with its decade-long series, 鈥淢ade in America,鈥 at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. In addition to the concert, Meridian Phase 2 will be working with SU students in master classes.
