In keeping with its strong traditions and in celebration of its 61st year of publication, ���ϲ����� Law Review will host its annual Law Review Banquet on April 9 and honor William J. Brodsky L’68 with its Law Review Alumni Achievement Award. Brodsky is chairman and chief executive officer of the and CBOE Holdings, Inc. in Chicago.

“Mr. Brodsky’s professional achievement and continued service to the College of Law make him an ideal recipient for this award,” says Jennifer Haralambides, third-year law student and editor-in-chief of the ���ϲ����� Law Review.

As chairman and CEO of CBOE since 1997, Brodsky has overseen a period of tremendous growth and product innovation at the exchange, as well as the successful transformation of CBOE’s traditional open-outcry market model into a world-class hybrid trading system. He serves as the options industry’s leading advocate in shaping market policy and regulation. In June 2010, he guided CBOE through its demutualization, whereby the exchange converted its business model from a membership organization to a for-profit public corporation, and the initial public offering of CBOE Holdings, Inc., stock.

In October 2008, Brodsky was the first leader of a derivatives exchange to be named as chairman of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) and served in that capacity for 2009 and 2010. He previously served as vice chairman of the WFE from 2007-08.

Prior to joining CBOE, Brodsky served for 15 years at Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), where he oversaw the launch of the CME Globex trading system and played a pivotal role in the development and globalization of stock index futures.

He serves on the Kellogg School of Management Advisory Council, as a trustee of ���ϲ����� and is a member of the board of directors of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Brodsky earned an A.B. degree and a J.D. degree from SU and is a member of the bar in Illinois and New York.

“The staff of Volume 61 of the Law Review has worked exceptionally hard to publish four books in record time, while producing quality works submitted by first-rate authors,” Haralambides says. “This volume focuses on a myriad of issues surrounding efforts to protect America’s children in the Internet era.”

Now in its 61st year, ���ϲ����� Law Review is the ’s most prestigious student-run publication. Each year, it publishes some of the nation’s most respected authors in four books.
