Two ���ϲ����� staff members will be honored April 28 at the YWCA’s 13th annual Day of Commitment to Eliminate Racism and Promote Diversity Luncheon, at the Holiday Inn in Liverpool.

Kelly Rodoski, communications manager in the Office of News Services, and Ryan Beauford, lieutenant in the Department of Public Safety, will be among the recipients of the YWCA Academy of Achievers Diversity Award. Individuals who win this award “have directly helped in the YWCA mission of eliminating racism and empowering women by participating in and supporting programs which promote and embrace diversity, supporting opportunities for women’s growth and leadership; or the person embodies the spirit of peace, justice , freedom and dignity.”

The YWCA lauds Rodoski by saying, “Her commitment to justice and acceptance impacts the entire University community, as well as her colleagues and community. Her goodness is contagious and unmistakable.”

“There is no way to adequately measure the depth of Ryan’s impact on ���ϲ����� students,” says the YWCA . “ … Ryan is the quintessential example of grace and dignity in action—quiet, positive, yet forceful action.”

“It’s nice to know someone noticed,” Beauford says. “I enjoy being able to say ‘yes’ to people and do as much as I can for them when they need help.”
