The newly designed website for ���ϲ����� Project Advance (SUPA), a partnership between the ���ϲ����� (SU) and high schools that offers SU courses to high school seniors, has won gold at the 2011 MarCom Awards in the category of “educational institution.”

SUPA Associate Director Sari Signorelli and software engineer Avinash Kadaji spearheaded the design and programming of . The new website supports the mission of Project Advance by providing convenient and expanded access to resources for high school teachers, students and administrators; SU faculty; and education researchers.

Among the website’s features are videos to augment descriptions of the SU courses high school seniors can take; access to online instructional resources for teachers; a blog written by SUPA students for students; and a live email chat option for inquiries.

The MarCom Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), an international organization made up of marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and free-lance professionals.

“I am pleased our hard work redeveloping our website has been recognized by peers in the marketing communications industry,” says Gerald Edmonds, SUPA director. “Our website is a central way for partner high schools to interact with our program, to communicate with the university and faculty, and to learn about the professional development we offer teachers and the support we offer students. Our mission pledges continuous improvement of our program, and the same goes for our website, which has been designed to evolve and expand.”
