(WTB) will present “Journey to the Tent of Abraham: The Second Step,” a 1.7-mile walk to visit eight local religious institutions, on Sunday, April 28, from 1-5:30 p.m.
The walk will proceed along the Connective Corridor on University Avenue, from East Genesee Street to College Place. It will continue along Euclid Avenue and Comstock Avenue, and conclude at Hendricks Chapel.
Participants will be invited inside each house of worship to learn more about their faith traditions, local histories and religious practices. WTB presented “Journey to the Tent of Abraham: The First Step in 2007.”
The participating houses of worship along the route, and the approximate times of brief programs at each site, are as follows:
The event is intended to bring together people of different faiths and cultures, to experience other people’s traditions and rituals and to share both what makes them unique and what we all have in common. The name of the event, the Tent of Abraham, refers to the patriarch of Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Bahá’í, who welcomed all into his tent with hospitality and kindness.
