Joan Fleet, interim director of the University’s Early Education Child Care Center (EECCC), has accepted an offer to become the center’s new director.
Fleet has worked at the center since 2012, starting out as the office coordinator and becoming interim director in 2014. During her time at EECCC she has been responsible for the administrative and staffing operations of the center, maintaining relationships with current families, prospective families, community partners and the New York State licensor.
“I’m excited to work with Joan in this new role,” says Sonya Williams, executive director of Human Resources Services. “Over the years she has been a great contributor to the daily operations of the child care center, and her acceptance of this position will provide continuity for the families and employees at the center. I look forward to Joan becoming more of a campus partner.”
Before joining ϲ, Fleet gained over 13 years of child care experience in the private sector, including five years as director of Learn as You Grow, Inc., in Camillus.
Fleet received a bachelor’s degree in K-6 education from SUNY Cortland, and an associate’s degree in early childhood education from Cazenovia College in 1990.
