Expert Monnat Details Good and Bad of CVS Purchase

After CVSÂ purchased health insurance agency Aetna, the pharmacy chain now looks to provide in-store patient care. To help understand the pros and cons to this, CBS News interviewed Maxwell Associate Professor and Lerner Chair of Public Health Promotion .
While instant access to healthcare for smaller injuries and ailments, Monnat says, there is a potential downside. “We have to be careful that the clinics being proposed don’t just become low-quality health care dumping grounds for poor and vulnerable patients,” she said. “Quality of care should be a top concern.”
