Nina Kohn, who serves as the David M. Levy professor of law and associate dean for online education at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College of Law, was interviewed by the Chicago Reader for the article “” At the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the governor of Illinois granted the state’s nursing homes and hospitals civil immunity for most malpractice, even for non coronavirus-related deaths. Kohn, who specializes in elder law and liability law, the Illinois order is “unusual, unnecessary, and likely harmful,” and that “granting long-term care facilities immunity from negligence claims is not something you would do if you truly care about residents of long-term care facilities.”
