Beth Egan, associate professor of advertising in the Newhouse School, wrote an opinion piece for AdWeek titled “” Egan argues that now more than ever it is important for brands to be a part of the conversation about race, as “the movement is being driven by youth culture” and “social media is their means of communications” so brands must start a dialogue on these same platforms. Egan says that brands must “recognize there’s a responsibility to have voice.”
