Brittany Kmush, assistant professor in the Department of Public Health at Falk College, was interviewed by the Miami Herald for the story “”  Throughout the pandemic there have been differences in the way Miami-Dade County and Florida’s health department calculate the local rate of positive test results for COVID-19, causing much confusion for residents. Kmush, an expert on epidemiology andpublic health, says the calculation she follows most closely in the daily positivity rate for new cases, as “it would answer the question: Is the pandemic increasing in your area, or decreasing in your area.”
