Nina Kohn, the David M. Levy Professor of Law and faculty director of online education in the College of Law, was quoted in the MarketWatch story “” Exploitation through probate conservatorship appointed by a judge can happen all too often, and the article focuses on how to prevent it from happening to others. There are certain regulations in place to improve guardianship over estates, but Kohn, and expert in elder law, argues that it’s not enough. “Currently, monitoring is typically anemic, and the ability to monitor is generally limited to under-resourced courts,” says Kohn.
