Scott Landes, associate professor of sociology in the Maxwell School, was interviewed by CTV News (Canada) for the story “.” Landes, who has researched the impact of COVID 19 on those with disabilities, found that those with intellectual disabilities are at a much greater risk of contracting the virus. Landes attributes this partially to the fact that “susceptibility to pneumonia and respiratory diseases are typically higher” in those with disabilities, making the vaccination especially important for the disabled community.
