“New York nursing homes granted legal protection, but not ‘blanket immunity'”

Nina Kohn, the David M. Levy Professor of Law and faculty director of online education in the College of Law, was quoted in the PolitiFact story “.” Kohn, an expert in elder law, says that the New York’s use of the term “blanket immunity” is not accurate legally speaking since the law does not say that nursing homes can never be held liable for anything. However, Kohn says the law still gives “a green light for facilities to understaff and underresource.”
