, professor of history in the Maxwell School, authored The Washington Post opinion piece “” Allport, an expert on British history who recently authored the book “Britain at Bay: The Epic Story of the Second World War 1938-1941,” discussed the legacy George V, the king of England during WWI. The opinion piece was a reflection on author Jane Ridley’s latest book, “George V: Never a Dull Moment,” which covers how historical accounts of George V being a “boring” man are largely unfair.
