, associate professor of communications in the Newhouse School, wrote an article for The Conversation that is titled “.” The article outlines a test that they and their colleague created to determine whether a particular media outlet is controlled by the U.S. or Russia to gain more global power and influence than the other. Grygiel states, “At their best, these types of outlets provide official government information – at worst, blatant propaganda.”
