Professor Warburton researches corporate finance, financial regulation, mutual funds, and bankruptcy. His research is largely empirical, and focuses on areas where finance and law intersect. He has published his research in leading journals in finance and law. Warburton’s research has attracted significant outside funding, including major research grants from the John Templeton Foundation and the World Bank. He teaches courses in financial management, corporate financing transactions, and commercial transactions, at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Prior to his academic career, he was a banking and finance attorney. In addition to his position at the Whitman School, Warburton also holds an appointment at ��ϲ��’s College of Law.

Peter Koveos

Professor Koveos teaches a range of courses in finance, international business, and global entrepreneurship. He is interested in exploring international financial market behavior, especially as it pertains to economic systems in transition. His current work is on the theory and practice of financial system reform. Much of his research is focused on Asia in general, and China and Shanghai in particular. Koveos is editor of the Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship, housed in the Whitman School.

Dr. Petrova holds a tenured position as an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at Whitman School of Management, ��ϲ��, and serves as the Academic Director of the Real Estate Programs at Whitman. Her research focuses on commercial real estate valuation, real estate asset pricing, portfolio management, and corporate governance. With numerous book chapters and over 30 articles published in renowned international journals, including Real Estate Economics, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Journal of Real Estate Research, the Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial Management, European Financial Management, Journal of International Money and Finance, and Journal of Financial Research, Dr. Petrova has gained recognition for her contributions.

In addition to her role as an active researcher, Dr. Petrova is a distinguished expert in real estate and corporate governance, accumulating over 20 years of experience in the field. She has provided consultancy services to investment professionals globally, spanning the USA, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Dr. Petrova’s advisory expertise includes the development, acquisition, and disposition of various commercial real estate assets, M&As involving valuation and post-merger integration, corporate restructuring, and business plan evaluation. She has also been instrumental as an advisor in establishing REITs and implementing tax-deferred exchanges.

Prior to her academic career, Dr. Petrova gained experience in management consulting at Booz Allen Hamilton and project finance at Finnvera. Roger Koppl

Roger Koppl is a professor of finance in the Whitman School of Management at ��ϲ�� and a faculty fellow in the University’s Forensic and National Security Sciences Institute.

Koppl’s research interests include the economic theory of experts, the theory of economic growth, complexity theory, and the production and distribution of knowledge in society.

Koppl has served on the faculty of the Copenhagen Business School, Auburn University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Auburn University at Montgomery. He has held visiting positions with New York University, George Mason University, University of Vassa, and the Max Planck Institute of Economics. Professor Koppl is also a past president of the Society for the Development of Austrian Economics and a former editor of Advances in Austrian Economics.

His work on forensic science reform has been featured in Forbes magazine, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Reason magazine, Slate, The Huffington Post, and other outlets.

David Park

Professor David Park studies the intersection between corporate strategy and entrepreneurship, and has published papers in academic journals such as Strategic Management Journal. Prior to his academic career, he was a co-founder of a high-tech company and Marine Corps officer. David Park received his Ph.D. from Foster School of Business, University of Washington, M.S. in International Business from Seoul National University and his bachelor’s degree from University of Seoul.

Anna Chernobai

Anna Chernobai is an Associate Professor of Finance at the M.J. Whitman School of Management at ��ϲ��. The focus of her research is operational risk, default risk, stochastic processes, and applied statistics and probability. Dr. Chernobai’s teaching experience includes undergraduate and MBA courses, and PhD seminars in the areas of risk management, business statistics, and stochastic processes.

She has published in top finance and related journals such as the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Accounting Information Systems, and Real Estate Economics. She is also an author of the book “Operational Risk: A Guide to Basel II Capital Requirements, Models, and Analysis” published by Wiley Finance in 2007.

In 2008, she won a selective FDIC research fellowship for her research on operational risk in financial institutions. In 2009, she collaborated with JP Morgan Chase and served as a ��ϲ�� – JP Morgan Chase Faculty Research Fellow. Also in 2009, her work in the area of operational risk received recognition from the industry and she was selected as one of the “Top 50 Faces of Operational Risk.”

In 2010, she received a university-wide Meredith Teaching Recognition Award from ��ϲ��, and in 2012 she was awarded with Guttag Junior Faculty Award from the Whitman School of Management.
