Join Multicultural Affairs this Latinx Hispanic Heritage Month for their Caf茅 con Leche Series. This series allows students, student organizations, programs and departments to engage in conversation with members of the 黑料不打烊 community. Discussions will focus on issues affecting Latinos and other racial, ethnic and cultural communities in topics ranging from education, identity and more.聽

The Caf茅 con Leche discussion series continues with 鈥淐elebrating the First-Generation College Student Experience” on Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 4-6 p.m. This discussion invites our campus community to engage in a conversation about what it means to be a Latinx/o/a/茅 first-generation college student. Featured speaker Saul Flores will be discussing his experience and facilitating the discussion.聽
Saul Flores (pronounced sah鈥搊ol) is a first-generation college student, philanthropist, photojournalist and speaker who is nationally recognized for his social impact projects. Through his most recent project, Saul documents the amazing lives of thousands of Latin American immigrants to fundraise for an elementary school in his mother鈥檚 hometown. His work has been featured on NPR, MSNBC and TEDx. Additionally, Saul has been featured as a keynote speaker for dozens of universities, inspiring audiences through his visual presentations in which he helps people realize the capacity of their immense human potential in times of extreme adversity.
Join Paola Ramos on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 7-8:30 p.m., for the聽 Latinx Hispanic Heritage Month and Fourth Annual LGBTQ+ History Month Potash Keynote! Paola Ramos is an author, Emmy award-winning journalist and Latinx advocate. She is a host for VICE and VICE News, as well as a contributor for MSNBC and Telemundo News. Ramos uses these multimedia platforms鈥攊n both English and Spanish鈥攖o uplift the voices of marginalized communities, break down stereotypes and mobilize people towards civic engagement.
