���ϲ����� Stage has announced plans for a 2010 Open House, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2.

Deborah Tannen, a best-selling author and university professor of linguistics at Georgetown University, will give the talk “She Said/He Said/We Said: How Family Talk Sheds Light on Language and Gender” on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m.

Peter Sellars, a renowned theater, opera and festival director and one of the most innovative and powerful forces in the performing arts, will speak at ���ϲ����� on Thursday, Sept. 16.

Set in a tough, Bronx high school, the nationally acclaimed and award-winning “No Child…” traces the efforts of a young teaching artist to engage a class of uninspired and underachieving 10th graders by challenging the students to put on a play.

The New York State chapter of the Surface Design Association (SDA), a nonprofit educational organization with more than 4,000 members worldwide, will host “SDA at SU,” an informative, one-day gathering on Saturday, Sept. 11.

The seminar will be team taught by arts professional David A. Ross ’71 and artist Carrie Mae Weems.

Large-scale works created by artists at Lake Effect Editions, the press of the printmaking program at ���ϲ�����’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, are the subject of the exhibition “Monumental Printstallations” at XL Projects, 307–313 S. Clinton St., ���ϲ�����.

���ϲ����� Stage is seeking boys and girls ages 7-12 of all ethnicities.

Kola Owolabi, ���ϲ����� organist and assistant professor in the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, will present an organ recital Tuesday, Sept. 7, and Wednesday, Sept. 8, on the historic Holtkamp organ in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, Crouse College.

The group will perform its all-female version of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” at the Edinburgh festival.
