When School of Information Studies (iSchool) senior Gerald Decelian ’10 decided to enroll in the interdisciplinary course, “What’s the Big Idea,” last fall, he had no idea that it would end up being one of the most useful courses he took at SU.

���ϲ�����’s first Entrepreneur in Residence, John Liddy, will be on the SU Quad on April 6 from noon-2:30 p.m. handing out $5 checks for great ideas.

Ryan Dickerson ’11, a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences and creator of The Rylaxer—a patented “bed transforming pillow”—is a finalist in Inc. magazine’s “America’s Coolest College Start-Ups” online contest.

���ϲ�����’s South Side Initiative Office (SSIO) will sponsor a six-week series of Nonprofit Leadership Training Workshops beginning March 22.

The March 4 session of the Institute for Retired Professionals (IRP) will host J. Michael Haynie, assistant professor of entrepreneurship and emerging enterprises at SU’s Whitman School of Management.

���ϲ����� has the most submissions to this year’s Central Upstate Regional Alliance Business Plan Competition, making up 39 percent of student business ideas in the running for $5,000. SU also has three teams entered in the $200,000 Emerging Business Competition.
