Vice Chancellor and Provost Eric F. Spina today named Senior Associate Dean Michael J. Wasylenko the interim dean-designate of the Maxwell School.

A full day of celebration and discussion and an exchange of culture will take place at the Annual International Relations Student Association’s (IRSA) Multicultural Fair, ‘Cultures in Collaboration’.

Professor Kristi Andersen will become the next Chapple Family Professor of Citizenship and Democracy in January 2011.

The Maxwell School will host an international conference on “The Right to Water” on March 29 and 30.

Maxwell School Dean Mitchel Wallerstein will step down at the end of July to become president of Baruch College.

The Feb. 18 session of the Institute for Retired Professionals (IRP) will host Ralph Ketcham, professor emeritus of history, public affairs and political science at SU’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Eliot Spitzer, former governor and attorney general of New York, will speak at the Maxwell School on Thursday, Feb. 11.

The 33 faculty members who comprise CPR may not have direct connections or overlaps in their study, but all target areas of U.S. social policy.

Eleven international professionals are pursuing non-degree study and professional development as the Maxwell School’s first cohort of Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows.

The students are enrolled in the interdisciplinary class “Quilts and Community.”
