The Orange Central Showcase further enhances an already exciting week on the ���ϲ����� campus during the annual Orange Central celebration Oct. 10-17.

Architectural designer and glass sculptor James Carpenter will speak at the ���ϲ����� School of Architecture on Tuesday, Oct. 12.

Sally Gore G’04, head of research and scholarly communication services at University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Lamar Soutter Library, will speak on “Mitosis and the Life Cycle: A Metaphor for the Transformation of the Research Librarian.”

Noted author Steve Erickson will offer readings from his novel “Zeroville” (Empire Editions, 2007) and from a shorter piece concerning July 4, 1826, which was published earlier this year in Greil Marcus’ “New Literary History of America.”

The Oct. 7 session of Thursday Morning Roundtable (TMR) features Leonard Burman, professor of practice at the Maxwell School of ���ϲ�����.

As the 2010 election season kicks into high gear, the University Lectures series will welcome Kathleen Hall Jamieson on Tuesday, Oct. 12, to explore the meanings within presidential speeches with an emphasis on the history of American oratory in the broad terms of politics, media and culture

Artist Edgar Jerins, who is known for his large-scale portraits, will present a lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Scholar and activist Angela Davis will deliver a public lecture at ���ϲ����� Oct. 12.

Keith Burton, president of the communications company Insidege, will visit the Newhouse School on Monday, Oct. 11.

Myung J. Lee, professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at City University of New York (CUNY), will present on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
